Happy Money, Happy Prizes
I love this concept.
I started reading more self-improvement books when I was 18. When I began updating Helene Hadsell’s work in 2020, most of us found we had more personal time. I started listening to more inspirational podcasts, and watching more new thought YouTube videos. It was during that time I discovered this Ken Honda interview on the Inspire Nation channel. He talked about his latest book Happy Money.
I was hooked! I love Ken’s concepts, his positivity and the gratitude he imparted to all those around him.
Then, as I am also the Contest Queen, I wondered, “Couldn’t the same apply to prizes??”
Let me first give you the Cliff’s Notes version.
- The Arigato Method is thanking your money when it comes in and thanking it when it goes out. “Money Money Money, go out and bless the world, and come back with all your friends.“
- You want to be a conduit for money so it flows through you with grace and ease. Similar to water it nourishes more when it flows, vs being dammed.
As prizes do not quite flow the same way money does, I chose to adapt Ken’s methods for entering and winning.
Here is what I came up with for Happy Prizes:
Gratitude is universal. Sprinkle that sh*t everywhere. “Entries Entries entries, go out into the world, and come back as prizes!”
NOTE: If you are having a bad day, find any little thing to be grateful for. Even if it’s for a bed, your cup of coffee or the fact you can breathe.
You want to be a conduit for prizes to flow to you. Prizes don’t flow through you the same way money does. Be excited when entering and you can pass on the excitement and luck by sharing prizes (taking a friend to a concert or giving your sister the make-up) or the giveaways you share with your fellow sweepers. You can’t lose helping others win. (Do you recognize that quote??)
Watch the video or read Ken’s book and see how you can use and/or adapt his techniques to your hobby—and life.
Are you expressing gratitude and/or excitement as you enter?
