Tag’s Choices

I didn’t spend enough time with Tag to learn about his life’s journey, and the books he loved. However, these are the books he recommends in Money & You. Some of these may be out of print, but they are no less valuable. Be sure to scour used bookstores, thrift shops, and flea markets for old copies.

The Silva Mind Control Method

Of course, this is the first book Tag Powell recommends. He was friends with José Silva and greatly influenced by The Silva Method. Tag was also a top Silva Method Instructor.

by Dr.Hans Selye

by Alice Stedman

Dress For Success
by John T. Molloy

This book was a product of its times. “The #1 book to make you look like a million so you can make a million.” You can appreciate why Tag loved it when it was published in 1975. Of course, technology has changed the game. You can work from anywhere in the world with your laptop or phone in any type of attire.

Yet, this book’s premise is that if you are polished and feel successful, that energy will be mirrored in your outside world. That wisdom still holds true. Therefore, this book will teach you how to embody that feeling in whatever your attire or locale. Be sure you exude that energy, no matter what you are wearing.

The Prosperity Secrets of the Ages
by Catherine Ponder

SPOILER ALERT! “You can have everything if you know the power that is within you and dare to use it!”

Similar to Florence Scovel Shinn and Norman Vincent Peale’s writing style, this book is chock full of first-hand accounts of success, illustrating the lessons outlined in each chapter. This is the companion book to The Dynamic Laws of Prosperity, which teaches you how prosperous thinking leads you to prosperous results.

Seed Money in Action
by Jon Speller

The subtitle of this book is ‘Working With The Law of Tenfold,’ and it’s based on the Bible verse Hebrews 6:14: “Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.” The concept is that whatever you spend in generosity and gratitude will return to you tenfold. This clearly isn’t a new idea; however, this book also includes formulas and exercises to help you master the Law of Giving and Receiving.

Think & Grow Rich
by Napoleon Hill

Known as the ‘Granddaddy of All Motivational Literature,’ Napoleon Hill published his most famous work in 1937, which has stood the test of time. Using examples that have become household names because of

this book, you, too, can learn to elevate your life by unlocking your full potential and live the life of your dreams.

Illusions
by Richard Bach

Tag loved this story because it shows us how our world is shaped by our perceptions and that we can create our lives in any way we wish. Written as an allegory, with the author as the protagonist, we have the pleasure of traveling along with him on his adventures as we learn important concepts.

How to Wake Up the Financial Genius Inside You
by Mark O. Haroldsen

This book outlines various methods for increasing your net worth via real estate investing. The first edition was published in 1976. Please note that the economic landscape was different than it is today, so some of the advice may no longer be applicable; however, the general principles are timeless and well worth studying.

by James Clear

If you struggle with shifting to new habits, this book is for you. James breaks down the process of creating new systems into small steps that are easy to digest and can be incorporated into your everyday life.

Secrets of a Millionaire Mind
by T. Harv Eker

The Attractor Factor
by Dr. Joe Vitale

The Energy of Money
by Maria Nemeth

Robert Ohotto recommended this book to help me shift my money blocks. I loved it because it forces you to look at money from a new and different perspective. More importantly, every chapter has exercises for you to complete. Journalling is recommended, and some exercises take you back over your entire life to deeply examine your fiscal beliefs.

The Illusion of Money
by Kyle Cease

Kyle went from working as a comedian to finding his life’s calling as an inspirational coach, teaching us how to pivot in life and land on our feet. His goal in his book is to teach you how to release your attachment to money—it’s an illusion—and instead align yourself with life itself.

The Power of the Spoken Word
by Florence Scovel Shinn

I discovered how powerful this technique was when I began reading manifestation, inspirational, and motivational books out loud. The lessons resonated differently than simply visually reading the words, and as an added bonus, some of the teachings literally manifested in my life.

The Science of Getting Rich
by Wallace Wattles

The Secret’s author, Rhonda Byrne, credited this book with inspiring her and her subsequent success. Although the book was originally published in 1910, its timeless wisdom still applies today. Learn how to manifest financial success along with all the other riches life has to offer.

Making Peace With Money
by Amy Jo Ellis

I was introduced to the Court of Atonement over a decade ago.
