More Hadsell Family Photos

In 2022, I visited Dike and Pheona Hadsell (Helene’s son and daughter-in-law) to retrieve the remains of Helene’s business files and a few books from her library. However, it wasn’t until I returned in 2024 that I was able to obtain some of the family slides. (Read about that adventure in my Winning in Life 2024 Road Trip and  Traveling Through Time blog posts.) Then this year, when I visited Arkansas and Texas, I was able to get more photos from both Melissa Waters (Helene’s granddaughter) and Dike and Pheona.

ARKANSAS

My first Hadsell family stop was in Arkansas, where I stayed with Melissa for a few days. One night, she dragged out a small trunk. We sat on the floor and began combing through photographs for me to scan. I have not laughed that hard in a long time. What wonderful memories and adventures she has had. It was also the first time I saw pictures of her mother, Pamela (Helene and Pat’s oldest child). I scanned some of her mom, Melissa, and her older brother, Stephen, when they were little, as well as a couple from their teenage years. We didn’t talk much about Helene, as I wanted to learn more about her journey. Similar to her grandmother, Melissa helps others connect with their soul. I was blessed to take a yoga class she taught, visit The Star Portal, where she sings kirtan, and the shop where she blends essences. (I bought three!)

TEXAS

My second Hadsell family stop was in Texas, where I flew my boyfriend George to Dallas so he could meet Dike, Pheona, and see all the places I talk about: The Delta Sciences Center, which is now Dike & Pheona’s home, Helene’s old house, the house she won, and even where she levitated.

Last year, when I visited, Pheona wasn’t feeling well, but this time I was able to have a good visit with her while George and Dike built a chicken pen. I went through a box of photographs, along with taking photos of family pictures on the wall (which need to be Photoshopped to remove the glare from the glass and appropriately cropped).

Before George and I took them out for dinner, they gave me an ancient photo album that was falling apart. In it was gold. That evening, I sat in the hotel scanning Formica publicity photos and articles of the Hadsells winning prizes.

When we got home and were unpacking the car, my daughter said, “Mom, you took a printer with you?” Yes. Yes, I did. And the more robust online Hadsell family photo album, for your enjoyment, is the result.
