“The law of life is the law of belief, and belief could be summed up briefly as a thought in your mind.”

What Heather Western Taught Me About Starting (Even When You’re Not “Ready”)

I had the best time sitting down with Heather Western for this episode of Words of Wisdom, and honestly, I think you’re going to love her energy as much as I did.

Here’s how we even found each other: Heather posted a TikTok about Helene Hadsell’s Joseph Murphy story, someone tagged me on it, and a couple of days later we were booking a podcast. Neither of us had heard of the other before that. Make of that what you will—I call it alignment.

A few things from our conversation that stuck with me:

She picked ONE habit—not a whole-life overhaul. Heather didn’t wake up and try to become a 5 a.m. club, meditate-for-an-hour, gym-every-day person overnight. She picked a single mantra—”rich people don’t go to bed with dirty dishes in the sink“—and did that one thing for 30 days. That’s it. And it snowballed into decluttering her entire house and rewiring how she shows up every day.

The negative wording doesn’t matter. Many manifestation teachers tell you to avoid negative phrasing in affirmations. Heather’s take: it doesn’t matter, as long as there’s no resistance to the belief and you actually feel it. Feeling seated in the belief is the foundation—not the grammar.

Missing a day isn’t a failure. Heather asked her subconscious what to do when she slipped, and the answer she landed on was simple: don’t restart from scratch, just don’t miss two days in a row. That permission alone probably saves more habits than any productivity hack.

Nobody talks about the middle of the journey. This one hit me. Heather pointed out that everyone shares the “I was broke, now I’m a millionaire” before-and-after, but almost nobody shows the unglamorous middle—where the real proof (and the real work) lives.

Manifestation isn’t a bypass from being human. We got into this—Helene Hadsell could manifest a house, but she still survived a near-fatal car accident, a cancer scare, and outlived two of her children. Winning doesn’t opt you out of being human—and that’s actually freeing to hear.

Enjoy my conversation with Heather! Hear her take on responding vs. reacting, why she believes in reincarnation as a learning mechanism, and the story of how she got over her fear of being seen as “stealing” other teachers’ work. I don’t think you’ll want to fast-forward through any of it.

One thing we didn’t discuss that I love about Heather is that she is studying other successful people to achieve her goals. If you watch her videos on TikTok, you will hear about a different concept, different teacher, and different resource every day. Then, as you heard in the interview, she takes one step toward those goals. So many people believe manifesting is giant leaps or big shifts in one gigantic swpooop, when in reality they arrive one step, one mile, and one action at a time.
