Proof Helene Hadsell Won Prizes

I am frequently asked if I have proof that Helene Hadsell won all the prizes she claims she won. Until now, I had to say no.

I had the letter and transfer proving she won the famous Formica house, but I never found her journals or other winning notifications. The family members I spoke to don’t know where they are either. My best guess is that Helene got rid of the journals as the contents were private.

As for the winning notifications, perhaps, like me, there were too many to keep. Over a decade ago, I sorted through my WINS boxes and only kept the most memorable ones. Perhaps that is what Helene did, too, as the articles I found on my most recent trip were pasted into a photo album.

THE HADSELLS IN THE NEWS

I was happy to see articles that included the whole family, as they all were involved in the community and entered contests. Perhaps in the future I will find more.

How long do you save your memories and keepsakes?
