Who Should Play Helene?
Helene Hadsell wanted her life story made into a movie, similar to Evelyn Ryan’s in The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio. She even wrote out her own screenplay. Helene sent this letter to Shirley MacLaine’s assistant on February 21st, 2006, with the idea that Shirley should play her in the biopic.
Shirley MacLaine was in Dallas in October plugging the movie In Her Shoes. After reading the interview she gave, I knew she would be the perfect person to play the feisty eighty-one-year-old character in the movie OTHER REALMS.
The screenplay I wrote is about my experience lecturing, researching, and traveling all over the world searching for answers about what makes people tick-click-get sick. It’s serious-silly-sermonish, and I KNOW Shirley could play the eccentric diva to the hilt.
If you haven’t read her interview titled: Shirley MacLaine-unplugged. It’s a hoot! I saved the article to send to her when the time was right, which happens to be NOW!
I’d be pleased to send a copy of the article. Also, I’d like for Shirley to consider reading my book IN CONTACT WITH OTHER REALMS.
No pressure, strictly wanting to share my experiences.
I can mail the article and book. I’ll get it off as soon as I hear from you. If the subject material of my book perks her open mind, I’ll send her the screenplay. I might add that my book and screenplay is just the tip of the iceberg of the people. places and things I’ve learned and observed over forty-plus years.
Who do you think should play Helene when a movie is made about her life?
