Winning the Lottery Doesn’t Opt You Out of Life

“All that money gives funds to your patterns.”
Robert Ohotto

Your Responsibility

As the Contest Queen, I am frequently asked, “How can I win the lottery?” and even, “Can you tell me how to pick the winning numbers?” Jim Rohn said, “No one can do your push-ups for you.” In other words, it’s your responsibility to pick your lottery numbers, enter your giveaways, etc. Yes, I am happy to help you master the logistics of sweepstakes hobby, but participating and having fun is the whole point of the hobby!

Your Mindset

What I teach on Words For Winning is the mindset of winning, for both in life and sweepstakes. You have to believe you are lucky and a winner before you are. Similar to the teachings of Helene Hadsell, Tag Powell, Jose Silva, and countless others. Therefore, I began teaching people to stop focusing on winning the lottery and instead look to the end result. In other words, what do you want the money for? Being financially abundant, so your monthly expenses are easily paid for? A home to feel safe and secure? The ability to travel whenever you wish? Etc.

Stirred the Pot

I created a video stating that winning the lottery wasn’t the solution to all of your problems. Yes, there is a Bell Curve of happiness. Money will help you get out of survival mode and will increase your happiness, but only to a certain point. You still have to navigate life, along with the new challenges instant money brings you. The comments got heated! Everyone was complaining that money would solve all their problems.

Again, yes, they would solve your immediate daily survival issues, but money doesn’t opt you out of life. You are still you with all your beliefs and patterns. As money funds those patterns, life could go well, or it could devolve. Do you have the gambler archetype? The co-dependent? The addict?

Expert Advice

Instead of arguing online, I decided to contact an expert. Timothy Schultz, who won $28M from the Powerball lottery when he was 21. We didn’t talk about how he won—you can watch his YouTube videos to hear that story—but about how money affected his life, along with the challenges he faced. I was even surprised by some of his answers, including the myth that most big winners lose their winnings within the first 5 years.

Enjoy my conversation with Timothy!
