Helene Hadsell is The Winning Sage – Bonus 1

In 2009, Vishen Lakhiani and his team from Finer Minds (now Mindvalley) interviewed Helene Hadsell and created a program called The Winning Sage, which included 13 videos, 4 audio recordings, and a PDF version of the 2nd Edition of Contesting: The Name It & Claim It Game.

Since clips from those interviews are widely shared on Instagram and TikTok, I thought it would be prudent to create a blog series featuring highlights, along with the full video (or audio) from each interview, to ensure Helene’s teachings don’t get lost in quick sound bites.

Bonus One

Helene originally shared this story in the 1971 edition of Contesting: The Name It and Claim It Game, which I didn’t discover until after I republished the 3rd Edition. The publisher removed the chapter when it updated the book in 1988, as they felt it didn’t fit with the new format. Then most of the chapter then ended up in Helene’s book, In Contact With Other Realms. Instead of updating the 3rd Edition, I shared the missing chapter as a free PDF download: The Missing Chapter.

Seeing Beyond What Others Could See

Helene said her unusual experiences began when she was just six years old. She described seeing things that other people couldn’t see, but instead of being encouraged to talk about them, she was told she was lying or that her experiences were the work of the devil.

One of her earliest memories involved her maternal grandfather’s death. While her family prayed around his bed, Helene saw him get up and walk through the wall with a group of people, even though his body was still lying in bed. When she tried to explain what she had seen, her mother told her to be quiet.

Years later, at 17, Helene became seriously ill with a high fever. When she felt she had nothing left to live for, she described an encounter with a being she called the Messenger, who told her she still had much to do and that she was healed. Her family dismissed it as a fever dream, but the next morning Helene got up and announced she was ready to return to school.

Helene never forgot these experiences, even when others questioned them. They became part of her lifelong curiosity about the mind, consciousness, and what might exist beyond what we can ordinarily see.

Watch Helene share these remarkable memories below.
